Shopping on Main Street in the East Hampton village during the summer often bears resemblance to the streets of 5th ave. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day the crowds can be somewhat intimidating and frightening. However if you can survive the masses you may find the luxury shopping to be very a gratifying experience.

Whether you have an event on Saturday night or forgot your swim suit you can find it all here in East Hampton.

There are several mainstays that continue to do business day in day out, London Jewelers, Ralph Lauren, Calypso, & Scoop. These stores have been around for many years and will be here for many more to come.

Yet, each summer they move over for more and more big name stores come to town hoping to capitalize on the wealthy summer residents then any other village and many of them are successful.

East Hampton newcomers this summer include:

Balenciaga (54 Main St) where Brooks Brothers once stood. Carrying all their signature handbags and accessories all the celebrities and trend setters are vying for.

Juicy Couture (17 Newtown Lane) scooped up to the former Calypso home location. Products ranging from dresses to beach wear for both women and girls. Shop here for your exclusive tracksuit with “Choose East Hampton” inscribed on the back.

Michael Star (66 Newtown Lane) stop by here for high quality casual fashion. You will find many comfy and great fitting t-shirts, shorts, dresses and more prices around $40.

Magaschoni (2 Newtown Lane) with its second Hampton outpost this brand has now taken over the old Cole Haan space. Fabulous sportswear and knitwear made of the highest quality yarns fabrics. Known for there beautiful cashmere separates, there will be no shortage of luxurious finds at this store.

Several stores are celebrating their 1st anniversary. Lululemon (35 Main St) sells technical athletic apparel for running, yoga, dancing, or any arduous activity. The styles they sell come in a fun color palette and are extremely comfortable with a very flattering fit. They also offer a complimentary yoga class at the store every Sunday at 5pm, what a way to end an enjoyable weekend.

Madewell (20 Newtown Lane) is also back for its second summer. With its cool t-shirts, vintage inspired jewelry, jean bar, & aged looking leather boots this store will complete any sexy laid back look from head to toe.

For menswear some of the best stores are John Varvatos, Brunello Cucinelli, Blue & Cream, & James Perse.

My favorite picks are JCrew for men and woman, great finds for casual chic Hampton style perfect for day or night and Intermix for get stylish dresses, rompers, & shorts perfect for heading dinner out on the town or dancing on tables at the Hamptons hottest nightclubs.
