South Edison comes to Montauk

By Katie Beckmann, Senior Online Editor
South Edison, located on South Edison Street is set to be Montauk’s newest summer resto.

Talented chef Todd Mitgang, who’s worked at Cascabel Taqueria, Crave Cerviche Bar and Kittichai brings a unique approach to South Edison’s menu. With dishes titled “Kick Back and Keep Eating” and “Everything Else” and a delicious raw bar with options of hot sauce with chili de arbol, ginger scallion oil and house pickled horseradish; South Edison proves to be a winner for the Montauk restaurant scene.

Other notable dishes include salt and vinegar fried shisito pepers, golden gazpacho, spicy tuna chalupa with house smoked bacon, pork belly braised with coca-cola and lobster roll prepared with fermented black garlic mayo.

The environment of South Edison compliments the menu very well. The restaurant is decorated with white washed chairs and yellow splashed walls.

Another interesting fact about South Edison is that they have a bike room set for those who aren’t interested in driving and a surf room available for those who are coming from the beach.
