If you didn’t see a celebrity at the Hampton Classic, you could hear a celebrity name announced in the show ring. Spotted in the crowd at the Bridgehampton equestrian competition in Bridehampton last week were CNN host Lou Dobbs and Mayor Michael Bloomberg — which is not surprising in that both had daughters (and horses) in the competition.
Georgina Bloomberg, fresh from a European tour, galloped and leaped — actually her horse Fiedi 3 did the galloping and leaping — to victory in the $7,500 Dreaming Creek 1.45m Open Jumper Class. Bloomberg calls the Hampton Classic her “hometown show.”
