CassWorld on the Scene: Facebooking

cass-may-22-092On Little Plains Beach last weekend in Southampton, a preppy blonde 29-year-old female friend in marketing meets my 32-year-old, Ivy League investment banker buddy. She tells him about how she believes women can be empowered and stay feminine. He says he’d like to get to know her better because he doesn’t meet any women who are like that. In fact, he thought being empowered and feminine were mutually exclusive. They know a few friends in common and are each other’s types. Since he doesn’t have his cell phone with him, he asks if he can friend her on Facebook. She says it’s lame for guys to use Facebook to collect girls as friends. They just want to have a collection of cute girls they can ask out when they get some free time. Is something wrong with that?
