We knew MTV’s “The City” would come to the Hamptons, we just didn’t know how. Tamarama, the band fronted by Jay from “The City,” will be playing at Stephen Talkhouse this Sunday night, June 7.
We never really paid attention to the band’s sound on the show, what with all the drama, but we checked out Tamarama’s MySpace page and they’re really good! Apparently the band’s name and inspiration come from the Australian beach where Jay and his bandmate “Pottsy” grew up. The beachy, folk-rock sound definitely translates to these shores. It reminds us of Jack Johnson.
Stephen Talkhouse is the place for live music on Long Island. It’s named for a Native American known for his 25-50 mile daily walks around Montauk, East Hampton and Sag Harbor.
Anyway, we’re going. Are Whitney and Jay still broken up?
$10, Sunday, June 7, 8 p.m., Stephen Talkhouse, 161 Main St, Amagansett, 267-3117, www.stephentalkhouse.com, www.myspace.com/tamarama

Jay is SUCH a cutie. Love Tmaarama – can’t wait to see them live on Sunday! I’m a sucker for Aussies …
They will be at Surf Lodge in September!
I’m there!
Good to know about the Sept show, since I missed out on all the fun at Stephen Talkhouse. Do you know the date?
Yeah, when is the Sept show? And Bebel is coming back on the 28th!
